Warren began his career in Investment Banking. He moved to Toronto, Canada in 1997 where he joined the Mergers and Acquisitions group of Royal Bank of Canada. In 1999 he joined start up OpenLane and was part of the founding management team which grew the business over 10 years to be the largest online wholesale marketplace for used cars in North America selling approximately 500,000 vehicles per annum. OpenLane was acquired by NYSE listed KAR Holdings in August, 2011. Warren returned back to South Africa in 2011 where he founded Clear Asset a technology platform which he grew successfully before selling a majority stake in an empowerment transaction. In late 2018, he launched Southern Sky Group with the goal of building the leading vertically integrated Cannabis business in Africa. He lives in Cape Town where he is married with 4 children.
Jonathan was previously Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of well known South African fashion labels, Earthchild and Earthaddict. Both brands had a national footprint of approximately 50 stores and a staff complement of 240 employees. The brands won numerous retail awards. In 2015, the business was acquired by JSE listed retailer Truworths International.
A strategic business advisor known for his practical and solution-based approach, Alan is a Founder and Co-principal of Bayline Capital Partners – a boutique capital markets advisory firm. A Co-Founder of several publicly traded companies across diversified industries, he is the former seed shareholder and Founding Director of Cronos Group Inc. With almost two decades of experience working with the North American public markets, Alan has a depth of knowledge in representing, advising and assisting Canadian and global companies in acquiring assets, accessing capital, advising on mergers and acquisitions. This includes navigating Initial Public Offering (IPO) processes in Canada, US and UK stock exchanges while concurrently raising capital.
Ricky Stone is General Counsel of Southern Sky Group. Ricky is an admitted attorney with 10 years experience in forensic, commercial, constitutional and environmental rights. Ricky has been at the forefront of Cannabis legislation in South Africa, having consulted to clients across the full spectrum of the cannabis space.
These include policy framework with governments in the SADC region, integration of historical rural farmer cultivators into market, licensing and product registration. While working for Southern Sky Ricky recently founded Stone Conscious Legal Minds a niche legal consultancy focussed on socially conscious brands.
